I am sure many of you have a huge collection of ribbons that you have won over the years collecting dust either in a spare room or an attic or something. The typical creative thing to do with them, is to create a quilt or two out of them. These quilts become quite treasured keepsakes full of many of the ribbons won at various events with a particular horse or so. However if you don’t want to make a quilt there are a few other creative ways to display your ribbons.
Display Board: Rosettes or Ribbons can be tacked to a board and hung on a wall.
Frames: Perhaps a special ribbon or few could be wrapped around a frame and stuck down, and then a photo of you and your winning mount could be placed inside the frame.
Tote Bag: Ribbons could be sewn with some other materials into a cute tote bag.
Shadow Boxes: Rosettes or Ribbons could be placed inside some shadow boxes, perhaps with some photos, horseshoes or any other little pieces significant to the winning combination.
Christmas Tree Decorations: Rosettes can make really good Xmas Tree Decorations, if something is placed on the back to hang them on the tree with.
Ribbon Wreath: Rosettes sewn into a wreath also make a fun decorational piece.
Ribbon Jars: A jar full of Rosettes around the sides can make a lovely addition to shelves, tables or dressing tables.
These are a few options that can be used to creatively display your ribbon collections a bit differently, but there are obviously others that can be created yourselves. There are so many memories attached with ribbons won at the array of events that we attend, and therefore many people choose to keep them. There are a few that decide to donate their ribbons back to the club to be used at the next ribbon day, but for the majority, big lumps of dusty ribbons can be a reality.
