Being spring at the moment, it is peak wedding season!
Being Equestrians, when it comes time for us to marry, we quite often like to include our love for horses within our special days. Whether it is the bride, the groom or both that adore equines, there are many ways other than having our horses present on the day to include them in our weddings.
Horseshoes: These can be used throughout the wedding, whether it be the ceremony and/or the reception decor, or within the garter, or upon the bride’s bouquet. There are many ways that horseshoes can be present, even in more traditional themed weddings. Just remember; try keep those horseshoes with the ends facing up to keep luck on your side!
Cowboy/girl Boots: These can obviously be worn by the bride, groom and/or the bridal party. Cowboy/girl boots can also be used to decorate; perhaps with a touch of flowers or something else to give a personal touch.
Photos of your horses: It is not always possible to have our beloved horses with us on our special day, so by having photos incorporated either in frames around the reception, or in a trinket attached to the bouquet, or even as a picture for a table theme, make for really special inclusions.
Horse Float Bar: A really cheeky and fun way to refer to horses during a wedding, is to hire a Horse Float Bar for drinks at the reception. If you are not sure what I mean, check them out on Pinterest!
Hay Bale Seating: Placing some blankets, or a plank of wood upon hay bales, and voila; country, horsey and practical seating for an outdoor ceremony and/or reception.
These are just a few suggestions of ways to include horses into your special day. Whether you use one, a few or none of them, I hope that you find a perfect balance of horse for your wedding!
