Back in the day the local saddlery would take on rug repairs, however not all do these days. There are however independent businesses out there that will take your rug, wash it, repair it, and return it to you for an affordable price. A much cheaper alternative to replacing rugs everytime they are damaged, particularly if they are just paddock rugs.
In the Hawkesbury/Nepean Area, I like to send my horse rugs in need of repair to Nikki’s Horse Rug Repairs and Rug Washing. I can drop my rug at Marcarthur Stockfeeds one week, and have it back clean and repaired by the next. It has made accomodating for my horse that is rough on the neckpieces of his rugs, way more economical and convenient than having to buy him a new rug everytime he rips it beyond wearable.
