Thursday 7th February I was lucky enough to accompany Ros Fraser (The Resplendent Rider) to meet Amy Langlands (Rider at Montanya Spanish Horse Stud), and Ffiona Erskine (Ffire Photography), to have a breathtaking photo shoot. Amy was lovely enough to have us all at Montanya Spanish Horse Stud, and take photos with her stunning Spanish horses; Catalina de la Montanya and Jovial de la Montanya.
The photos that we all contributed to produce, are nothing short of dream – worthy, and all stem from a place of support for one another’s equine pursuits. Ffiona’s finesse and ability to take outstanding “moment” photography is showcased in spades! Ffire Photography is internationally renowned for Dog Photography. Ffiona has travelled as far as Tibet with the Tibetan Mastiffs, and now she wants to launch Ffire Photography into the Horse World. Show Jumping, Endurance, Dressage and Eventing would be particular disciplines that Ffiona would like to capture events in. Ffi also has an extensive education in Photography to back her ability and experience, and has been actively involved with horses since she was 13.
Montanya Horse Stud is located in picturesque surroundings near Wollongong, NSW & is owned by Julie & Greg Peterson (Amy’s parents) who breed Spanish horses. Catalina & Joey are the two equines we had the pleasure of sharing the limelight with in our photo shoot. Catalina was originally trained & competed successfully in Dressage and Breed Showing on behalf of Montanya Spanish Horse Stud by Tracy Stead, and Amy took over the ride mid last year, with Tracy continuing to coach the partnership. Joey was broken in about 12 months ago and Amy is planning on taking him out to his first dressage competition in the near future. I think everyone can see why Amy fell in love with him as soon as she met him. They have had a very special bond since then, which can be seen in the Feature Image.
All of us had such a fun time during this photo shoot, and I think we’re all extremely happy with the photos that we not only have as content, but also have to cherish forever!
