Know The Demand, Back Yourself and Have Faith – Repost ©

Not every idea for a business has a demand that will keep it sailing for years. Some products or services are simply not needed or wanted enough, that they just don’t survive very long on the market.

However there are many products and services that are needed and wanted at high demand, and give the businesses responsible for them healthy revenues for many years. Small business owners will also reap the other freedoms that come with being able to be their own boss, and live their busy lives the way that they need to.

I guess what I am trying to say is… if you know that you have customers/clients, that genuinely need and want your products and/or services, then have confidence in that! Don’t let other people’s perceptions of success, or how successful other people’s businesses seem, crush what YOU call success! Success looks different to different people, and people will have different figures, lifestyles, assets, and levels of health and happiness that they feel are successful. Just back what YOU are trying to achieve with your business, and don’t worry about everyone else. Be inspired sure, but don’t lose focus of making your goals for your business possible.

Times like what many have experienced over the last 18 months, really test our determination to keep businesses operating. Some have been heartbreakingly forced to close, because restrictions have meant they simply don’t have the cash flow to stay open. Quite often it is the people in business that determines it’s ability to overcome adversity, and that is being seen time and time again, in thousands of businesses around the world. Only the business owner or board can make the call when everything is simply too big to overcome anymore. It is evident that businesses that have products or services that are needed by customers and clients, or will be needed once restrictions ease, and have enough to back them whilst the demand is lower, are the ones that are remaining on the market.

Being able to make business decisions based on trust is very difficult right now, because I feel trust is built on what is known or seen. There is a lot of unknowns at the moment, and we only really trust what we don’t know blindly. This is what I call having faith. If your business provides in demand products and/or services, and is essential, then perhaps you are still travelling well at the moment. However for those who have businesses with nonessential products and/or services, but perhaps still in demand, and were performing well prior to the pandemic; have faith! Have faith that when this all blows over, and you manage to keep yourself safe and sane to the easing of restrictions and beyond, that the demand for your product and/or services will be rejuvenated again. In the meantime, focus on what you can do with your business, and take care of yourself, and those valued customers you still have.
